The Delhi Skirt Game will be Friday, August 5th
At the Delhi Township Park --- Mark Your Calendars NOW!
THANK YOU DELHI!
The 2010 Delhi Skirt Game was one of the best ever from both an attendance and financial stand-point.
With the economy the way it is, we didn't know how the Skirt Game would fair. But thanks to all of the thousands who showed up the 33rd Annual Delhi Skirt Game was a HUGE Success!
There are a ton of people to thank for this success and we cannot begin to thank them all. Please make sure you visit our sponsor page to see who was responsible for making this a financial success. The people who were not sponsors that we would like to thank are first and foremost, the Delhi Township Police, The Delhi Citizens on Patriol, and the Delhi Firefighters. These are all first rate organizations without whom we could not have a Skirt Game.
We would like to thank Bob Herzog, Amanda Orlando and Judge Pat Dinkelacker for their efforts at being the MCs for the night. The three of them form a great team that keeps the crowd entertained throughout the night. We would like to thank the DJ for the evening, Adam Hartwick and also our sound man Mark Jacobs. They provide the music and make sure all of the speakers and sound systems are in place so everyone can hear. Also, we would like to thank Dave Klawitter and his Queen City Pyro Productions for the fantastic fireworks display.
We would also like to thank the many organizations that help to make this event a success along with other events throughout the year. The Delhi Civic Association manned the Split the Pot Booth. The Oak Hills Athletic Boosters helped with the Bankers and Bars-n-Bells Booth. The Delhi Business Association donated the Bouncy Tent and sold the tickets for that and the Blow-up slide that was donated by PNC Bank.
We want to thank WKRC-TV (Local 12) for sponsoring us this year. If you saw the commercials on their TV station you will see how valuable that partnership is.
Again, we cannot take the time or space here to mention all of the inning and half inning sponsors that help us financially. However, there are 3 that do require mentioning on this page. The three are our Major Sponsors for the Skirt Game - Biggs, Cagney Weisker Realtors and Eagle Savings. Biggs donates all of the meat for the event and Cagney- Weisker and Eagle Savings provide us with a large monetary donation and have for years. Without them and the other donors, the fireworks display would not be what it is and the amount of money that we raise due to their seed money would not be possible.
If you have any question or comments about the game, feel free to send them to: info@delhiskirtgame.org. We will respond either via email or if you want a call simply put your phone number in the text of the email. We are always looking for new members and new ideas for the game to make it bigger and better. You can use this mail box to get in touch with us to volunteer or make a suggestion. We meet on the 4th Thursday of every month from January through August at 7:30 pm at the Delhi Township Fire Department on Neeb Road. The meeting is open to the public. If you want to become involved in one of the greatest charitible organizations around attend a meeting. It is addicting once you become involved.
Disclaimer: We are not affiliated with Delhi Township or any of its organizations in any way. The Delhi Skirt Game is a not for profit 501c3 Incorporated in the State of Ohio and registered with the Secretary of State for the sole purpose of raising money and providing assistance to people in need in Delhi Township. While we have great relationships with the various departments at the township and we could not put this on without their approval and assistance and the use of Delhi Township Park, the Delhi Skirt Game in no way receives financial assistance from Delhi Township or tax monies from the citizens of Delhi.
Thanks again for your support and we will see you for the 34th Annual Delhi Skirt Game on Friday, August 5th at the Delhi Township Park
Ladies Night Out, is something we have been doing for the past three years, including 2010. This event started out as a way to advertise the Skirt Game on the night prior to the main event. On Thursday, August 5th, we had 10 "girls" in full attire along Delhi Pike and at Foley and Anderson Ferry and we raised over $2000 for the cause. We did have some complaints for fear that these girls would either cause an accident or get hit, but everything that we do is a risk, even getting up in the morning, and in order to raise this kind of money with very little work, it seems to me that the risk is worth the reward. These are grown men, not teenagers and they are not going to do anything to risk their lives or the lives of others in Delhi for which we work so hard to help.
